The details

My name’s Jacqueline, I’m 18 and on September 1st, I arrived for my new solo life in Melbourne. Except I wasn’t really going it alone, I was moving in with 3 friends, one of which I’d met before, the other two I hadn’t, and all known to me by the big bad Internet (yes, with a capital I). So, having finished school, left home and moved to another country, what was left for me to do? Find work, and spend my days at work writing entries for my blog!

I didn’t succeed in getting into university to study photography, which was my first choice, so instead I am continuing the temp jobs I started when I arrived and am simply enjoying life. Currently undecided on future plans, I’m contacting photographers to see what experience and tips I can gain, while working in an admin role for a bathware company. I’m going out with friends, taking many photos and seeing what Melbourne has to offer.

This blog serves many purposes for me. Firstly, a record of this huge change in my life. I want to remember all the things I went through when I moved (my ‘365 days’ photography project over at my Flickr page is also assisting in this). I’m promoting some of my favourite photographs that I take. Most recently, I’m using it as a record of books that I’m reading in 2008 - which is simply going to be as many as I can! Whether from the $5 book shop, the library or Dymocks, I want to read as much as I used to.

Hey just came across your site and it looks good, the kind of thing I like to read. I’m gonna add you to my list of blogs to read. Where can I find this flickr page?
